Thanks for the detailed update. There is something very strange going on with those two KX134 boards...
Do you have a different Qwiic cable you can try? Your measurements are so strange that I think you probably have a faulty cable?
If it is not the cable, then please have a close look at the solder joints on the Qwiic connectors. Do those look OK? Perhaps try swapping to the alternate connector, does that improve anything?
Just for reference, the SDA, SCL, CS and ADR pins should all be high (3.3V). TRIG should be 0V. The INT pins are outputs and should go low (0V) after the chip does a power-on-reset.
